Monitoring of geometric parameters of plates

Plates geometric parameters monitoring is relevant for non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy enterprises. A feature of the implementation of automatic measurements of the geometry of plates is that it is simultaneously required to control a set of parameters with high accuracy.

The flat products customers demands the control of such indicators as:

• Flat products width
• Flat products flatness
• Longitudinal edges camber
• Length of each flat product unit

The automatic implementation of such a comprehensive assessment can also be carried out contactless using optical triangulation methods based on triangulation 2D-scanners.

When developing a measurement scheme in accordance with the list of monitored parameters, the speed and nature of the rolled products movement in the control area, the location of the equipment and the available energy resources are taken into account, therefore each project has its own “face” in terms of implementation.
